Xbox Series X and Series S are confirmed launch-day platforms. Pre-orders are live on the Microsoft Store. Buy on the console, via the Xbox app on Windows, or on the Microsoft Store website — the licence is tied to your account either way.

Grand Theft Auto VI on PC
The PC version of GTA 6 has not been dated. Rockstar's pattern across V and RDR2 has been to launch PC three to twelve months after the console release. The technical ceiling is highest on PC — expect the cleanest version of the game to land here, eventually.
When PC ships
Expect the PC release in mid- to late-2027 based on prior Rockstar pattern. Rockstar will announce it on their own timeline. Don't buy a PC for GTA 6 in November 2026.

GTA 6 is a current-generation release. The official platform list at launch is PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Anything else is either not happening or not announced.

Status
Not happening. Take-Two confirmed at announcement that GTA 6 is current-gen only. The hardware can't hit the streaming and density targets.
Your options
Upgrade to a PS5 or Series X|S. The PS5 Slim and Series S have come down in price; this is the cheapest a console upgrade has been at any point in the generation.
Nintendo Switch & Switch 2
Switch
Not happening. The hardware is a generation behind PS4.
Switch 2
No announcement. Plausible 12–24 months after the PC release if the port economics work, but Rockstar has not committed.
Steam Deck
The Deck only runs PC games. Once the PC version ships, the Deck will run GTA 6 at 720p / 30 fps with low settings. Not a replacement for a desktop PC or current-gen console. See the PC build guide for context.
Cloud streaming (GeForce NOW, Xbox Cloud)
GeForce NOW typically supports Steam and Epic libraries, so the PC version becomes streamable when it ships. Xbox Cloud Gaming follows Game Pass cadence, which means GTA 6 won't be on it for at least 18 months.
Mac, mobile, VR, and anything else
No Mac native build. No mobile build. Any "GTA 6 APK" on the Play Store or third-party Android markets is fake. No VR mod for VI is going to ship on day one given Take-Two's 2022 takedowns of VR mods for V and RDR2. The platform list is the platform list.

The cheapest legitimate paths to Grand Theft Auto VI are not the same as the cheapest paths overall. We never list grey-market key resellers (Kinguin, G2A, CDKeys, Eneba, Instant Gaming) — Take-Two routinely revokes those keys. The legitimate cheap routes are these.
Regional pricing on Steam
In Brazil, Argentina, Turkey, India, Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Colombia, and Peru, Rockstar publishes Steam prices in local currency that work out to less than the US dollar price. Steam Brazil has historically delivered the largest discount — past Rockstar releases have launched in BRL at ~50% of the dollar-converted equivalent. PSN regional pricing in those markets follows similar patterns. This only works on a storefront account registered to the country in question, paid with a local payment method.
Authorized digital resellers
Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, Humble Store — Green Man Gaming, Fanatical, and Humble Store are publisher-authorized — their Steam keys come from the publisher partner program, not arbitrage. They sometimes layer a small VIP / newsletter discount on top of MSRP during launch windows. Check those when GTA 6 goes live.
Edition math
Standard Edition at $69.99 / £64.99 / €74.99 is the cheapest legitimate path in absolute dollar terms for non-regional markets. The Deluxe Edition is a $20-30 markup for online cosmetics — if you don't play GTA Online, the Deluxe is the same single-player game at a higher price. The Collector's Edition is a physical SteelBook bundle priced at 2.5x the Standard; you're paying for the object, not for more game.
Timing
AAA Rockstar releases on console rarely discount in the first six weeks. Steam typically holds MSRP through the first 90 days, then drops 10-20% for the first major sale. PSN/Xbox follow with their own promotional cycles a few months later. If launch-week pricing isn't your priority, waiting 90 days is the most reliable saving on a non-regional account.
