GTA VI Editions: What's Worth Paying For
Standard, Deluxe, Collector's — and what each one historically buys you.

Editions for AAA games have followed the same template for ten years. The standard edition is the game. The deluxe edition is the game plus three to seven things that don't materially affect the experience. The collector's edition is a physical bundle priced at twice the deluxe and worth approximately the deluxe in actual content.
Standard
Buy this. The standard edition is the game. If you have any uncertainty about whether you'll finish the campaign, this is the only edition you should consider.
Deluxe
The deluxe edition is for two kinds of buyer: people who play the online side and want the cosmetic head start, and people who pre-order whatever the publisher tells them to. If you're neither, skip it. The single-player content in deluxe editions for the last three Rockstar releases has been garnish.
Collector's
A SteelBook is a SteelBook. The collector's edition is for people who like Rockstar enough to put a thing on a shelf. That is a real thing to like. It is not a thing that improves the game. Buy it if you want the object.
What about pre-order bonuses
The pre-order bonus has historically been a small in-game item worth approximately ten dollars in shark cards. If you are a single-player buyer, ignore it. If you are an online buyer, you have already decided to pre-order anyway.
Where to buy
This is the part this site is built for. Compare the actual prices on PSN, the Microsoft Store, Steam, the Rockstar Store, and Epic. They are usually the same on launch, but exchange rates and regional pricing matter, and they will diverge in the weeks after launch as platforms run promotions.
Verdict
Buy the standard edition unless you specifically want the SteelBook. Don't pre-order more than a week before launch. The platforms are not running out of digital copies.
