How this works

  1. The browser tries to detect your GPU, RAM, and OS automatically. Browsers cap or hide some details, so it usually misses your CPU model.

A note on accuracy

Rockstar has not published official PC system requirements for Grand Theft Auto VI yet. The PC version is expected several months after the November 19, 2026 console launch. The tier classifications used here are estimates, anchored to RDR2's actual scaling on PC and the visual fidelity Rockstar showed in the GTA 6 trailers. Treat the result as directional. We will tighten the tiers and the GPU classification once official specs land.

Privacy

Everything happens in your browser. No hardware information is sent to our servers. There is no analytics tracking on the result, no fingerprinting, and nothing about your machine is stored. This is a static page that runs the comparison locally.

If your rig falls short

You have three honest options.

  • Buy on console. Grand Theft Auto VI ships on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S on November 19, 2026. The console version costs $69.99 and runs at the lead-platform target without any of the upgrade math. If your PC isn't close, the console is the cleaner path.
  • Wait. The PC release lands months after console. GPU prices in mid-2027 will be different from prices today. If your rig is one tier off, time will close some of that gap.

For Mac owners

GTA 6 has no announced macOS native build. Apple Silicon Macs (M1, M2, M3, M4) can run a fair amount of Windows-only content via Crossover or Whisky once the PC version ships, but you give up frame rate and stability. The simplest answer for a Mac owner who wants to play GTA 6 is to buy on a PS5 or Xbox Series console.

Steam Deck

The Steam Deck and similar handheld PCs (ROG Ally, Legion Go, MSI Claw) are not separately supported. They'll run the PC version of GTA 6 once it ships, at lower settings and resolutions than a desktop. Don't expect 1080p / 60 fps. Do expect 720p / 30 fps with a fan that runs hard.
