I built downloadgta6.com because every time a new GTA was about to drop, I'd watch the same thing happen. Search results would fill up with shady mirror sites, "free download" pages crammed with malware, and fake beta keys. People asking honest questions — what edition do I get, is the digital cheaper than the disc, is preordering on PSN better than Steam — couldn't find a clean answer.

I've been playing these games since GTA III on the PS2, the kind of late nights you'd only commit to before you had a real job. Vice City on a hand-me-down PC. San Andreas on launch night. I bought GTA V three times across three platforms because I'm that guy. So this isn't a cash-grab content farm. It's a place to check prices, read about editions, look at legitimate mods for the older games, and not get phished.

What we do here

  • Compare prices across retailers (PSN, Microsoft Store, Steam, Epic, Rockstar Store, physical disc) once GTA 6 is on sale.
  • Cover release news, edition differences, system requirements, and platform tradeoffs.
  • List well-known, well-behaved mods for GTA V (no decompiled code, no asset rips, no IP-importation projects — only mods that have stayed up for years without legal trouble).
  • Track scams and fake download sites so you don't fall for them.

What we don't do

  • We don't host the game. The only legitimate way to buy GTA 6 is from Rockstar or an authorized retailer.
  • We don't host beta keys, leaks, decompiled code, or anything Rockstar would have a fair claim to.
  • We don't pretend to be Rockstar. They've been clear about what they do and don't allow, and we stay on the right side of that line.

How the price page works

Until the November 19, 2026 release date, the prices on the where-to-buy page are placeholders that match Rockstar's publicly stated launch suggested retail. They are clearly labeled as placeholders. As the official prices firm up across the five storefronts in the weeks before launch, we'll update each row by hand, and once the game ships, the page becomes a live comparison rather than a placeholder grid.

We do not scrape retailer pages. We do not run automated bots against PSN or the Microsoft Store. The prices shown are entered manually after a human verified them on each storefront. This is slower than scraping but it produces fewer wrong numbers, and it stays inside every retailer's terms of service.

Editorial independence

Nothing on this site is paid placement. Every retailer link goes to the storefront a buyer would already pick on their own — Rockstar, Steam, the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store, Epic, plus the major physical retailers. The order of the price grid is determined by retailer-store-of-record sort order, not by who pays us, because nobody pays us.

If that ever changes, the change will be disclosed prominently on every page where it applies. It is not changing today.

How the mods page works

The mods page lists single-player Grand Theft Auto V mods that have been continuously available for at least three years and are hosted by their original authors. We don't host any files. The links open the author's own download page, where the actual responsibility for the file lives. If a mod author wants to be removed from the list, the request goes to the same email address as everything else.

We don't expect a meaningful GTA VI single-player mod scene before mid-2027. The script-hook libraries that everything depends on need a stable Rockstar build to target, and the 2017 modding policy will need to be re-confirmed for VI before authors can build with confidence. Until then, the page documents the existing GTA V scene as a baseline for what the VI scene should look like.
